This past summer, the design agency NBDC created the RETROKIT CROSS concept shop for domestic eyewear brands, clothes and bags. Drawing on elements of the past and future, the shop provided consumers with a unique shopping experience.
The RETROKIT CROSS was housed inside a cafe located near Gangnam Station in Seoul, South Korea. Unlike traditional stores, the merchandise was not hidden away in display cases, but rather out in the open for shoppers to interact with. The centerpiece of the store was a giant cross that was used to display all of the eyewear. To complement the imposing display, the designers used wooden accents to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The innovative eyewear pop-up demonstrates the shift towards more open retail spaces that invite customers to physically interact with the merchandise on display.
