Restaurants Canada, a non-profit organization that advocates for and promotes the interests of Canada's restaurant industry, is launching a metaverse platform that is designed for the specific needs of the country's food service industry and its various players.
Devised as part of a collaboration with metaverse and augmented reality (AR) company Nextech AR Solutions, the '365 Marketplace' platform will be launched at RC Show 2022, Canada's largest event for hospitality and food service industry members. This metaverse platform aims to leverage AR to help exhibitors showcase their wares and services to members across the country, whilst utilizing the strengths of hybrid virtual spaces to foster greater connectivity.
In the words of Paul Duffy, president and chairman of Nextech AR Solutions, the '365 Marketplace' metaverse platform "brings the restaurant industry into the metaverse, providing a completely digital marketplace where 3D models and AR experiences, including holograms, can be utilized to connect buyers and sellers and provide a much more interactive experience than a traditional online marketplace."
