Climate Group, along with partners such as CBRE, Danfoss, ROCKWOOL, Signify, and VELUX, has initiated a project called Renovation Revolution to address the urgent need for increased renovation rates of buildings in Europe. With the EU targeting net zero emissions by 2050, the current renovation rates of around 1% per year fall short of the 2.5% annual rate recommended by the IEA to achieve this goal. This is where the Renovation Revolution steps in.
The project aims to research and implement strategies to boost renovation rates, overcome financial and regulatory barriers, and align priorities between landlords and tenants. By leveraging existing technologies and programs, such as building controls and district heating networks, the project seeks to reduce emissions, save energy costs, create jobs, and improve health and well-being.
