While doing some live fashion trendspotting this week, I came across the Ankle Coil Sandals by Rene Caovilla.
The soft, snakelike patterned pair, which ends with a dagger-like amber jewel at the coil's highest part, costs $930. Another pair, the Snake Sandal, which featured silver, glitzy stones and a snake's head on top, is slightly more affordable at $650.
The pair I had seen were adorned with small roses, yet it was slightly different than the one in the gallery. The petals were made of soft, golden fabric, and thorns wove up the straps.
Coiled sandals are great for people who can't quite keep their heels on the back of their shoes if, like myself, they have strangely curved arches.
