It feels as though natural disasters are happening more frequently and so designers are taking up the challenge to make the life of survivors a bit more endurable with such creations as the Rely Refugee Kit. What at first appears to be a geometrically structured gym bag is actually a survival set that provides some of the necessities needed to meet everyday situations with.
Designed by Chen Yu Jung, the Rely Refugee Kit opens up to reveal several compartments that hold a bottle of water, a lighting tool (powered by kinetic energy), tableware and toiletries. When kept rolled up, the container can be used as a stool and when unfolded, it becomes a sleeping bag and light shelter.
The Rely Refugee Kit is a 2012 red dot award design concept winner.
