It's no secret now that Keurig has developed a product that makes quite the negative impact on the environment, yet the brand has just released a line of recyclable K-Cups that will hopefully make a difference -- or at least pave the way to making a difference. Made out of the same material as water bottles, the recyclable K-Cups are set to make up half the number of K-Cups in the market by 2018.
Of course, this solution still isn't ideal according to Darby Hoover from the Natural Resources Defense Council, "The production of each one of these coffee pods requires energy, materials, chemicals, water, [and] transportation." Nevertheless, what the recyclable K-Cups do show is an attempt to right a wrong.
