Using water as his canvas, Turkish artist Garip Ay recreates famous paintings and his interpretation of Van Gogh's The Starry Night is almost lifelike.
The artist quite simply uses darkly colored water and paints his creations onto the liquid surface. A YouTube video shows him flicking various shades of blue, white and yellow and then manipulating them so that they imitate the classic swirls of wind and sun that are seen in the original painting. He also recreates Van Gogh's self-portrait in vivid blue, brown and neutral colors, managing to replicate the artist's work while maintaining his own personal style.
