Found in Nevada (of course) Rhyolite is now a ghost town, long after being built as the result of a gold rush. Should you visit Rhyolite, you will no doubt be amazed by the odd outdoor art projects which are found around the town.
THEY ARE AMAZING!
To me it looks like the outstanding art exhibit is a re-creation of Jesus' Last Supper. It was created in 1984 by a sculptor called Albert Szukalski. He made this piece by wrapping live models in plaster-soaked fabric to achieve the shroud effect.
Oddly enough, miners used to keep penguins as pets, which explains why there is also a a two-story-tall silhouette of a miner and his penguin.
There is also a 25-foot tall block woman titled "Lady Desert: The Venus of Nevada" which is impossible to miss with her yellow hair and pink skin!
I also totally adore the bottle house. Ghost towns fascinate me and I would totally love to visit this one!
