Re-Inventing 100 Year Old Electric Cars

Detroit Electric

It seems that the electric car is not the newest, most original and/or futuristic form of motor transportation after all!

Detroit Electric, a joint venture between Zap and Youngman Automotive Group, are bringing back an electric car design that's nearly 100 years old. Starting in 2010, a limited number of the 100 year old futuristic cars will hit the road.

The Detroit Electric, originally produced by the Anderson Electric Car Co., will sport a top speed of 25 miles/hr. (40 kilometers/hr.) and have a service range in the neighborhood of 100 miles (160 kilometers).

Pretty soon, you'll be able to ride around town in the same type of car that Henry Ford and Rockefeller once owned!
