A series of Ravensburger puzzles reward the patience it takes to complete a 1000 piece jigsaw with a little something extra after putting the last tile in place.
The German-based company created four puzzles that, when paired with the accompanying iPad or iPhone app, display video animation and sound effects that seem to appear out of thin air.
By placing the iOS device over top of the finished scene, the accomplished piece-fitter can play a bonus game, make their way around the African savannah on a photo safari or take a panoramic tour of the Paris landscape. Another puzzle also features a DIY option for users to make a Norwegian-style snow globe.
This augmented reality feature makes all the hard work and frustration associated with correctly fitting a plethora of similarly shaped tiles into a bigger picture pay off.
