Whimsical Shakespearean Fashion

The Rami Al Ali Spring 2014 Collection is Inspired by Ophelia

The ethereal gowns that make up the Rami Al Ali Spring 2014 collection are inspired by the Shakespearean character Ophelia, who appears in the prolific writer's story of Hamlet. A tragic figure if there ever was one, the designs are nevertheless light and airy, which capture her innocent disposition full of hope and melancholy that ineptly disguises her unstable mental state.

More than that, the Rami Al Ali Spring 2014 collection is filled with a floral motif that captures one of Ophelia's most famous scenes in which she hands out flowers to the other main characters. Each of the fifteen dresses that make up the collection are inspired by the different emotions she experiences through the story, hence their variation in color and cut. They were recently displayed during Paris Fashion Week.
