Although the R-01 Chair features a minimal design, it is anything but simple. Instead, its design is rather deceptive in that it could almost fool one into thinking that it was built backwards. Of course, that is not the case at all.
Designed by Reza Aliabadi and Lailee Soleimani of the Toronto-based firm rzlbd, the R-01 Chair was created as a dining chair for a boutique restaurant in Toronto. Extremely contemporary thanks to its boxy shape and metal materials, the R-01 Chair would nevertheless complement almost any type of decor, thanks again to its minimalist look.
Basic and comfortable, although it might not look like it, the R-01 Chair's backrest is a great touch of soft, simple foam texture. The seat has a painted finish so that it can be customized to match any space.
