Swedish director Emma Wickström takes an unorthodox approach to set designing and styling, and this is evident in the Monki Image Campaign SS11 series of pictorials. Shot by duo Marco Grizelj and Kristian Krän of Aorta, the editorial shoot plays with four different themes, namely Mirror Movement, Exploring Wonderland, In A Secret Garden, and Wild and Tame.
While Mirror Movement is a vibrant and gravity-defying shoot that sees the models donning mostly symmetrical ensembles and colorful wigs of red, blue and platinum blonde, the Exploring Wonderland pictorials feature mostly shades of black, white and earthy tones with the models wearing layers and flamboyant pieces.
Flowering and fruiting plants of gigantic proportion are the main components that make up the In A Secret Garden shoot, with the models decked in navy blue and white garments. Lastly, the Wild and Tame series of pictorials see models in vintage dresses and sporting wacky hairstyles.
The Monki Image Campaign SS11 is a fun and quirky way to show fashion.
