Nintendo announced two new 'Amiibo' figurines themed after the popular Japanese RPG 'Xenoblade Chronicles 2.' The characters in the new Amiibo set are 'Pyra' and 'Mythra,' two halves of the same character that appear in Xenoblade. Additionally, the Pyra and Mythra characters appear as a single fighter in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, which the Amiibo is designed for.
Amiibo aren't only figurines, but also offer various functions on the Nintendo Switch. These functions include unlocking cosmetics or features, taking pictures of the Amiibo on the Nintendo Switch, or in the case of Super Smash Brothers, training a computer-controlled fighter of a specific character.
The Pyra and Mythra Amiibo will function with Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, but Nintendo has not yet stated whether or not these Amiibo will offer perks in Xenoblade 2.
The Amiibo are available as of April 20th, 2023, at an MSRP of $49.99 USD.
