The PureDraught has been unveiled by AB InBev as a new beer packaging alternative to traditional steel kegs that promises to deliver exceptional flavor and freshness.
The keg consists of a polymer design that allows air or gas to be introduced to the outer bottle of the unit to push beer out of the inner chamber. This prevents air from coming into contact with the beer, which will enable it to stay fresh for up to 30 days after being tapped instead of the usual seven with traditional kegs.
The PureDraught keg was described by Global Director of Draught Capabilities at AB InBev Daniel Ingram who said, "For a consumer, PureDraught means a fresh beer experience for up to four times longer, since the first time air or gas touches the beer is when it’s poured into their glass. For bar or restaurant owners, PureDraught means no keg deposits, less waste, right-sized products for beers with slower turnover, more efficient storage, and no reverse logistics of returning a keg – they can simply put the used kegs in their local recycling bin, reducing the carbon footprint of the process considerably."
