A Ukrainian heavyweight boxing champion known as Wladimir Klitschko has teamed up with design studio Monotype to create a new punched typeface. This campaign aims to literally punch out illiteracy as an artistic interpretation.
By putting his strong fists to good use, he dipped his hands in blue pigment before literally boxing out the 26 letters of the font onto white canvases. He uses extensive force to create each letter as a way of showing that illiteracy should not be overlooked.
Klitschko’s fist-painted letters are digitally scanned to create the font after they have been punched out. They are now on sale on eBay to raise money for "A Heart For Children" charity as his way of giving back to the community for a recognized and creative good cause.
