Streamlined Riverside Structures

The Project Eco Link Building Bridges City and Nature

Public transportation exists as a complex network of stretching trajectories, joining distant destinations with a fleet of rail and wheeled conveyances. Project Eco Link celebrates this all-encompassing system while assuming, on a greater scale, the role of uniting the urban environment with the natural landscape that surrounds it.

The weblike megastructure, as designed by Jinqi Huang and Junkai Jian, bridges the waterway with a lattice of tendon-like forms. The organic crisscross pattern extends along the entirety of the building, opening up to reveal sections of transparent glass roofs, green terraces, solar panel arrangements and pools for rainwater collection. The resources harnessed by these sustainable systems will give this transportation hub the ability to function emissions-free. As futuristic as Project Eco Link may look, it exploits contemporary aesthetics and cutting-edge technology to bring civilized society back to nature.
