Forget about those touristy street sketch artists and their charcoal five minute portraits that are ridiculously overpriced check out the Profiles Project. This art series actually boasts profile portraits embedded in aluminum trays. Pretty cool, right?
Created by Israeli-based designer Idan Friedman, the Profiles Project is unlike anything I have seen in a long time. The beauty of this art series is that the trays themselves act as unique frames due to their shape as well as their raised edges.
Of course, Idan Friedman didn't actually create each piece on the spot. Instead, portraits were embossed onto these aluminum trays. The Profiles Project focuses on ordinary people and disposable objects.
