State of Kin designed the Proclamation House which is paired with an olive-tonal hemp render along with aluminum awnings. The family home is filled with light located in Western Australia and it is home to a couple and one of their elderly parents. The home is defined by its sculptural concrete structure that is wrapped in an insulating hemp inside and outside of the form.
State of Kin told Dezeen, "When the client first approached us, they were looking for a home that could serve dual purposes: a space for entertaining guests and a private oasis for relaxation. The hemp render provides a distinctive, earthy look that complements the natural, organic feel we aimed for, seamlessly integrating with the home's surrounding environment. It also offers superior insulation that enhances the heating and cooling efficiency of the house thereby reducing reliance on artificial systems, and also it provides significant acoustic benefits, absorbing sound and reducing noise levels."
