This Cultural Event Kicks Off Pride Toronto 2016

To kick off Pride Toronto 2016, the AGO is hosting a special edition of its First Thursday event. With legendary Toronto-based artist Bruce LaBruce taking the reigns, the event will celebrate the inclusion, diversity and creativity of the LGBT community.

The AGO event will take place on Thursday, June 2nd and it will serve as the launch party for Toronto Pride 2016. The event is part of a partnership between the AGO and the LGBT Film Festival, with exhibitions curated by LaBruce. With performances by Ron Athey, Narcissister and No Bra, the event will touch on issues of race, gender and sexuality. In addition to the artwork, legendary queer musician Gio Black Peter will be supplying lively music to keep party-goers entertained all night long.

Dubbed "nn ambivalently hostile pride take-over over First Thursday that is designed to shake up the habitual," the party serves as a perfect opportunity to come out and support Toronto's LGBT community.
