Homey Contemporary Prefab Retreats

MAPA's Minimod Blends a Modern House with the Brazilian Forest

Minimod is architectural studio MAPA's prefabricated building company and the latest extension of it in the real world is a secluded prefab retreat in the woodlands of Brazil. The dwelling is created to be exceptionally slick and contemporary, allowing it to be seamlessly inserted into the context of the forest. Located in the Curcaca Valley, the prefab retreat showcases how useful and efficient prefabricated building techniques can be for hard-to-reach sites.

The structure was assembled near São Paulo. The silhouette of the home presents a charred exterior, a wooden interior, as well as a grass roof that allows for the dwelling to assimilate itself within the context of the Brazilian forest.
