'Aleutia' is a London-based startup that is on a mission to deliver a prefab classroom to every county in Kenya. In many parts of the world, rural communities lack the proper resources needed to create school buildings. Aleutia wants to ensure that all children have access to educational resources by making it cheaper and more efficient to build schoolhouses in rural areas.
The new Aleutia classrooms measure 20 feet by nine feet and feature a series of prefabricated pieces. These pieces are designed using 'frame cad' steel beam technology which facilitates rapid on-site building. Not only are the prefab classrooms easy to set up, but they are also designed to be self-sufficient. The classrooms feature a series of durable solar panels that help to power a number of devices inside, including 10 computers, 11 monitors and a server.
The goal of the project is to ensure that all children in Kenya have access to a safe classroom and educational tools such that will aid in their development.
