Dutch firm 2by4 Architects is launching a collection of small prefab cabins based on their highly well-received vacation home design. These cabins are suitable as offices, vacation homes and even full-time dwellings, and can operate both on and off the grid.
The cabins come in three different models. The smallest, Chalet Aida, has a floor space of 21 square meters and has a double-height living room with a large glass facade at the front. The Chalet Tosca and Chalet Nabucco homes are larger, measuring 39 square meters and 48 square meters respectively.
All three models are built using a wooden frame, walls and roof and are fitted with double-glazed windows.
Prices for these prefab cabins start at $95,570 for the Chalet Aida, rising to $108,314 for the Chalet Nabucco. The cabins' length can be expanded at a cost of $6,371 per 4 square feet.
