The newly opened Portal Bar in Stockholm goes against popular design currents. The interior was arranged by Claesson Koivisto Rune who strived to stay away from "pink or white marble" motifs. The result is an elegant and mysterious space that is incredibly arty and alluring.
For Portal Bar's interior, the design firm tapped midnight-blue and embellished the space with "dreamlike wall illustrations." The institution is an extension of the Portal restaurant which opened its doors to the public in 2016. While the business was initially a place where one can sit down and enjoy a tasty meal, the launch of the Portal Bar adds a layer of flexibility as it is more casual, snack-friendly and features a rich list of "Nordic craft beers, cocktails, [and] biodynamic wines."
The two are divided through a "huge arched portal."
