Painted Cement Installations

Pool, The Alchemy of Blue by Lizzie Buckmaster Dove Explores Erosion

Pool, The Alchemy of Blue is comprised of a series of surreal installations that center around eroded stones. But they aren't the average stone. Painted blue on one side, the artist, who used to collect them as a pastime, soon discovered that they originated from an oceanside sea pool that was being slowly consumed by the surf. Located in Coledale, a small seaside village in New South Wales, Australia, Lizzie Buckmaster Dove decided to use the broken concrete for her art.

Inspired by the power of the moon, whose pull creates the tides that is slowly devouring the swimming pool, Dove's Pool, The Alchemy of Blue series concentrates on circular shapes. Created indoors and outdoors, they are a beautiful tribute.
