Friendly Bear First Aid

The PolarAid Kit Aims to Help its Human Users and a Population of Animals

Shedding the familiar coat of red and white with the distinctive symbolic cross, the PolarAid Kit assumes an image that is more approachable to kids who might be frightened by their injuries and the application of alcohol swabs and bandages. Designer Amy Chen decided to develop First Aid kit packaging with a warm and fuzzy quality, modeled on the cartoony face of a polar bear.

In addition to having an amiable look about it, the white box has been made eco-friendly as well. Only a small amount of black ink was used and no material was wasted: the tabs from the sides of the drawer were relocated and repurposed as rounded ears. The PolarAid Kit is reusable and the profits from buying one would go to saving the suffering polar bears.
