Poker Chip Landscapes

Colorful Casinoscape Inspired by Shanghai

These fun and colorful landscapes of cities are made from poker chips. This way Chinese artist Liu Jianhua can be sure not to loose his currency. I guess that the phrase "the city is built on money" fits well in this context.

The cityscape is apparently a replica of Shanghai. I don’t know if gambling is big out there, but my guess is that there is some kind of social or political comment in building a city out of poker chips and dice. Anyhow it looks as impressive as it is detailed.

The Poker chip artwork is part of a solo exhibition by the artist at Galleria Continua in San Gimignano, Italy.
