With all the excitement and mystery surrounding Sony’s February 20th announcement, one design company asked the design community to create their own ideas for a PlayStation 4 logo.
99 Designs out of Australia called on their community to enter their own submissions for a new PlayStation 4 logo. The winner of the contest gets $500.
Some of these designs are downright clever in how they combine the classic ‘PS’ aesthetic from the iconic PlayStation logo while slyly inserted a ‘4’ into the design. Since this is a contest open the public, there are also a lot of solid tries that just barely miss the mark by being too busy or confusing to look at.
Overall, this contest serves as another shining example at the encouraging creativity of the gaming community at large. While the contest isn’t run by Sony, it will be interesting to see if the new PlayStation 4 logo looks similar to one of these designs.
