Rimbin was created as an "infection-free" playground concept for a post-pandemic world where many playgrounds have been temporarily closed off to prevent gatherings and the risk of spreading a virus via surfaces. Designers Martin Binder and Claudio Rimmele came together to create the concept that supports space for safe play while still allowing kids to keep their distance from others. The entire design resembles a series of water lily pads and is based around individual play areas with individual paths between them.
Even though kids will be separated by physical distance with this playground concept design, there are details like hollow tubes that help to make communication easy. With safety and sanitization in mind, the concept has been imagined in metal.
