PIZZA TIME is a new collection showcasing pizza art curated by Vera Neykov for NYC’s Marlborough Gallery’s new Broome street location. The various artists in the collection try many different mediums, from paintings to literal pizza art. John Riepenhoff’s contribution is a perfect example, which features a giant Pizza covered with miniature pieces.
In all seriousness, the collection is much more than just pizza. The official gallery website touts pizza as the "emblem of New York City", and Neykov herself suggests that pizza represents community in the collection. If you’re interested in food art, the excellent craftsmanship in this exhibit is a must-see. But you might have to grab a slice after taking in these mouth-watering pizza artworks.
