Google is bringing the Pixel 4a to Canadian consumers, with the sleek recycled material smartphone now available online.
With similar specs to the Pixel 4, the Pixel 4a is a more affordable option that still incorporates all of the original phone's key features. This includes its impressive 12.2 MP dual-pixel camera, which features Google's Top Shot, Portrait and Night Modes to help users capture the perfect shot wherever they are. Like the Pixel 4, the 4a boasts 6 GB of RAM, and comes with 128 GB of storage space. A few key differences include the updated screen dimensions, and the inclusion of a transmissive hole that allows the screen to extend to the top of the phone without missing out on the front-facing camera. The 4a also brings back the traditional audio jack, and includes a thumbprint reader on the back.
Although similar to the Pixel 4, Google is able to offer the 4a at a more accessible price point due to the phone's hardware adjustments, with the company utilizing recycled materials to create its polycarbonate unibody. Consumers can pick theirs up on the Google Store, as well as from Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Freedom Mobile, Vidéotron and Best Buy.
