It's summer and barbecue season is upon us, so it's only fitting that I introduce the Pit Mitt as some of the gear you could be using.
The Pit Mitt is pretty straightforward. It's essentially a glove that's made from synthetic aramid fibers that create a flexible barrier so that the heat doesn't penetrate the mitt's cotton lining. The glove is also very flexible and will stretch up to your forearms for extra protection. It's even reversible for right or left-handed use. While most men may think that the gloves probably aren't needed, they're not a bad accessory to have on hand. Plus, these naysayers will probably regret not having one when they burn themselves making a sausage.
The Pit Mitt is available at Williams-Sonoma.
