Groundbreaking Business Jets

The Pilatus PC-24 is Switzerland's First Homegrown Business Jet

The Pilatus PC-24 is a business jet that recently made its first ever flight, traveling across Switzlernad in a 55-minute journey. The jet is noteworthy because it marks the first ever homegrown Swiss business jet.

The aircraft costs a cool $9 million and was first unveiled in Geneva in 2013. Intended to compete with the Cessna Citation CJ4 and the Embraer Phenom 300, this aircraft is powered by a pair of Williams FJ44-4A turbofan engines that each generate 3,400 pounds-feet of takeoff trust.

The airplane offers a wingspan on 17 meters and can carry up to 10 passengers. Its design is inspired by the famed PC-12 turboprop, and is designed to operate on runways short and long.

The Pilatus PC-24 surely represents a milestone in Swiss aviation, and represents healthy competition for existing offerings in the business jet sector.
