The London Festival of Architectures installs benches as a part of the Pews and Perches competition that is annually hosted by the LFA. It is made with the collaborative efforts of the Royal Docks Team to invite upcoming creatives to bright artful and bright components to the docks. It has playful seat designs that decorate the area including steel-banded timber crates or a rope seat replicating a wave structure.
RDT program director Dan Bridge explains, "At a time of climate crisis, it is more important than ever that we seek solutions which reduce waste and embrace the principles of a circular economy. This year's cohort embody this ambition, demonstrating what is possible when the creative and functional combine. We are excited to see how these remarkable benches will continue to inspire and contribute to a more sustainable future for the Royal Docks and London as a whole."
