The 3D Idea Builder is a personal 3D Printer manufactured by Dremel, a company that may be better known for producing rotary power tools for routing, carving and engraving.
This personal 3D printer has been manufactured with both experienced makers and novice users in mind. Eventual owners of the product will be aided by Dremel's partnership with Autodesk, which will help provide free print-ready 3D models and online design tools.
The printer is fully enclosed and is equipped with a color touchscreen in addition to onboard printing software that allows it to run on a stand-alone basis or while hooked up to a computer. It can print at a resolution of 100 microns and uses PLA filament in 10 colors.
The product will be available at Home Depot stores in the US in November for $999, and will also be sold at Canadian Tire stores in Canada.
