At Baselworld 2018, Rolex released a new slew of watches and among them is the updated Perpetual Deepsea Sea-Dweller. The newest addition to the Rolex Deep Sea-Dweller line adheres to the design cues of its predecessors, but does features a few changes. The biggest evolution is probably the change to the watchmaker's cutting-edge caliber 3235 movement, the same movement can be found in the Sea-Dweller 4000. The movement is packed with a new host of technological improvements, including Rolex’s Chronenergy escapement and anti-magnetic nickel-phosphorus construction. The movement is also the first to receive Rolex's proprietary Chronometer certification based of in-house standards.
Most of the design changes to the Perpetual Deepsea Sea-Dweller are subtle as the 44mm stainless steel case with a titanium case back remains unchanged. The new Perpetual Deepsea Sea-Dweller does come with a wider Oyster bracelet and a resized Oysterlock spring-loaded safety clasp. The lugs have also been redesigned, but will not be noticeable at first glance.
