What makes this brand of grains unique is that it offers consumers a choice of goods from a variety of different countries. The patterned rice packaging uses distinctive visual languages to describe one of the more unique qualities of its contents.
Graphic designer Julie Longman has created a trio of storage jars to hold the edible commodities from India, Africa and China. The most obvious difference between the labels of the tree types is the color, with yellow, blue and pinky-red inks chosen to cover them completely. The beveled edges of these card sleeves were treated slightly differently, with repetitive motifs decorating them in vertical bands. The Indian, African and Chinese varieties have patterned rice packaging that's inspired by the traditional motifs of their cultures' textiles, ceramics and art.
