Sculptural Vortex Seating

The Parabola Chair by Carlo Aiello is Intricate and Minimalist

The Parabola Chair may be mistaken for a sculptural, and rightly so, but it is a practical piece of art that can be used and not just looked at. Inspired by math, as its name suggests, the Parabola Chair has a vortex-like aesthetic that could very well suck the sitter into a different dimension. Fanciful thoughts aside, it's design is simultaneously intricate and minimalist, which allows it to complement just about any existing home decor.

Designed by Los Angeles-based designer Carlo Aiello, the Parabola Chair was inspired by the self-imposed challenge to create a single surface that serves as seating, armrest and backrest, all of which is supported by a minimal structure. Simple and porous, it is also quite ergonomic.
