British graphic designer David Marsh created these Pantone-constructed album covers using the Pantone swatch graphics in Adobe Illustrator. He created this effect by using as few colours and shades as possible so that the images still easily reveal the famous album cover. His idea worked out; it is not hard to recognize Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' or the swimming baby on Nirvana's 'Nevermind' album.
The idea of the Pantone-constructed album covers stemmed from Marsh's love for design and print; he designed his series for his own exploration and development along the process and to get the satisfaction when completing an image. Marsh started of with some famous paintings like Vermeer's The Girl with the Pearl Ear Ring or the famous glance of the Mona Lisa, and later on started working on different famous album covers to integrate his passion for music in his designs.Photo Credits: designboom, davidmarsh.sketch360
