Consumer electronics giant Panasonic has announced that it will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Technics SL-1200 turntable by launching an upgraded, homage-paying model dubbed the Panasonic SL-1200M7L. The new turntable will be limited to a total of 12,000 units and will be available in a range of colors, including red, blue, black, green, white, beige, and yellow.
The original Technics SL-1200 turntable made its debut in 1972, and since then has become a cult-like collector's item. Moreover, the turntable stopped being produced by the brand in 2010, which boosted its appeal amongst hardcore audiophiles.
Now, the Panasonic SL-1200M7L is available to purchase online as well as at physical retailers such as Guitar Center, Stokyo, B&H, and Turntable Lab.
