Now c’mon, you can’t possibly get any more environmentally friendly than the Pallet House. When you’re using recycled skids that are often found at loading docks as your main building material, you deserve to call yourself green. Of course, besides just being an energy efficient home, this abode was also built with the cost factor largely in mind, as the materials would cost literally next to nothing.
Designed by University of Vienna student Schnetzer Andreas Claus and Pils Gregor, the Pallet House is 60 square meters in size and took 800 pallets to build. Because the home was so easy to construct, it makes it just as easy to disassemble and move if the homeowners get sick of their surroundings.
