Paige has unveiled a groundbreaking product from the innovative Paige’s Pathology Foundation Model, named Virchow. Virchow is the first application capable of detecting cancer across an expansive spectrum of over 17 tissue types, encompassing skin, lung, gastrointestinal tract, and multiple rare tumor types and metastatic deposits.
Paige overcomes common industry complications by leveraging data extracted from over 4 million digitized slides. This innovative approach eradicates the typical setbacks associated with developing single-tissue products, enabling the efficient creation of artificial intelligence applications for cancer detection across diverse tumor types.
Paige is actively pursuing FDA regulatory oversight for products developed using the innovative Foundation Model technology.
"By combining the outputs of the Foundation Model with data types from other modalities, including genomics, radiology, and other health data, one can derive exponentially greater insights about the nature of cancer, its behavior, and response to specific treatments," said Razik Yousfi, Senior Vice President of Technology at Paige.
