Doodles to Tell Time

Ora Unica Watch

The beautiful Ora Unica watch designed by Denis Guidone further solidifies the notion that watches have relinquished their main function as machines that tell time and have morphed into fashion accessories. Who looks at their watches anymore? Most people check their mobile phones for the time.

Ora Unica (which means One Hour) was just selected as the winner of the international design competition, Adamo 'o Eva. The unique design uses a single line drawn on two circular faces to represent the hour and minute hands. The resulting doodle changes as time passes.

I love it! Somehow Guidone made the childish doodle look very stylish and elegant.
