As two OCAD University students have demonstrated with their innovative Onemile project, wearable technology continues to expand its horizons to new and exciting heights.
Students Yuxi, Hudson and Maz came together to create a hood, which allows the wearers of the garment to literally be able to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. To further explain, what this hood does is that it records light, sounds and footsteps of the person wearing it at indiscriminate times. The recordings are sent to a base station, which is then swapped with another wearer so that they can physically experience what the aforementioned person once did. This allows for others to share past experiences with each other in a way that connects two people across time and location.
The Onemile project provides an intriguing experience like none that has ever been attempted before.
