Consumers are becoming more aware of the benefits of healthy, organic foods, which have led many grocery stores to adopt a fresher stance with natural-looking produce covered in dirt; One of Studios has created another way to make such foods appear more fresh. David Saldoff of One of Studios wanted to bring one of his favorite childhood memories to his home, so he designed a shelving unit that recreated the apple-picking experience.
Aptly dubbed Newton, One of Studios' apple shelves float off of the wall and hold three at time. A playful design, the Newton shelves focuses on an experience rather than a function, which will encourage others to do the same. Sometimes a product doesn't have to be efficient to be cherished.
