Experimental architect Stefan Beese used an old dumpster to create a luxurious swimming pool in his own backyard. Perfectly blending in with the natural surroundings, this waste container pool is certainly a work of art.
The 'Pool Box' is made from a converted 'Dumpster Dive De Luxe,' which is a brand of waste containers. To convert the old dumpster into a pool, Beese began by cleaning the steel box and adding a layer of anti-corrosion paint. He also applied a layer of limestone below the waste container to ensure that the ground did not become contaminated with any pool chemicals. Inside of the pool, Beese used high-density foam insulation as a form of toe-padding and a flexible pool liner to protect the interior. To give the swimming pool a more contemporary feel, Beese disguised the Pool Box with wooden walls.
