Oatly has revealed the newest addition to its sustainability initiative to be a program that upcycles used apparel into new merchandise. ‘Oatly ReRuns’ was initially launched in the fall of 2021 to combat unsustainable fast fashion and its impact on the fashion industry and the earth. Previous drops from the program included vintage holiday sweaters that were transformed into art and vintage denim jackets.
For the brand’s forthcoming drop, Oatly is launching a collection of 10 vintage rain jackets that encourage low-print and planet-safe lifestyles. The campaign sees the models live in a universe where rain never ceases, showcasing the potential impacts of climate change in addition to the new garments. The rain jackets, which were designed by 10 artists, address themes related to plant-based living or climate change.
All proceeds from the collection will be donated to Lower EastSide Girls Club.
