This photo series featured in Numero No. 144 proves that chicness can exist in the wild wild west. Sporting femininely styled denim and rustically bold accessories, these models portray beauty that is both rugged and dainty. Fashion is often mistaken for high-end couture, but stylist Charles Varenne made sure to dress these beauties in contrasting attires like dirt-stained clothes and trucker hats. The resulting effect is striking and unusually chic.
Fashion models Ashleigh Good, Louise Parker, Katlin Aas, Kremi Otashliyska, Elisabeth Erm, Kel Markey and Soo Joo are turned into cowgirls. But even with grease stains and unkempt hair, the models’ form-fitting attires make them femininely pretty. The photos were taken by New York-based photographer Billy Kidd and were featured in the June/July 2013 edition of Numero Magazine.
