Sam Baron Curates the Nossa Terra Exhibitino

French designer Sam Baron curates the Nossa Terra exhibition as a part of Lisbon Design Week. It highlights several designs and artifacts that are made from the material to bring attention to the various customs of different Portuguese regions. The namesake translates to Our Earth, and the material is seen transformed into designs such as vases, plates, jugs, and even historic sculptures that date as far back as the 1800s. It is displayed across wooden tables and is showcased at the Aequivo Aires Mateus space.

Baron speaks about the exhibition to Dezeen, noting "The exhibition is made up of very different types of pieces to show how Portuguese design is evolving and growing. It's all made from terracotta but treated in very different ways. Terracotta making also translates the cultural habits of the different regions of Portugal. In the north, they use more black terracotta while the village of Nisa, which is close to a river, creates white stone bottles. The countryside areas create terracotta water bottles for farmers to drink from when working in the fields, while the cities are more dedicated to ceramics and tiles
