American bookseller Barnes & Noble has announced the launch of the 'Nook GlowLight 4e,' which is being positioned by the brand as a more affordable alternative to the e-booker reader 'Nook GlowLight 4' that was released in December 2021.
The new e-book reader features a 6-inch display and comes with 8GB of storage; the previous model came with 32GB, which justified its higher price tag. In addition, the display itself has been downgraded slightly, delivering 212 dots per inch instead of 300 dots per inch. Aside from these changes, however, the new Nook GlowLight 4e is very similar to the original model making it a viable alternative for consumers willing to accept slight downgrades for a lower price point.
"Encouraging browsing and helping book lovers discover their next favorite read is at the heart of Barnes & Noble. We are excited to deliver this latest experience in time for Father’s Day gift-giving and summer reading," said Barnes & Noble executive Susan McCulloch in reference to the new e-book reader's launch.
